Best Aldi Coffee Products (7 Coffees to Watch)
One of the best things about Aldi is how they cheat so many expensive products that taste either the same or better. Coffees range from muddy waters to high-end experiences, and Aldi is no slouch when it comes to offering customers exceptional variety.
We’ve listed seven of the best Aldi coffee products, plus one big name you should avoid, just in case you’re wondering what to grab next time you’re down the caffeine aisle. Let’s go!
The Best Aldi Coffee Products of 2022
7. Barissimo Hazelnut Coffee Powder (and Cup)
Barissimo is one of those excellent Aldi brands that you can hardly miss, and ground hazelnut is a typical choice.
It also comes in cups (or pods, if you prefer), so you can get a rich, velvety flavor with the push of a button in the Keurig.
Even better, the single-serving pods are Fairtrade certified.
One reviewer on Amazon said about the coffee:
“The most delicious, aromatic coffee I’ve ever had. I’m an addict now.”
Plus, the author of Running in a Dress lists this coffee as her 10 best Aldi coffees to buy.
6. Café Bustelo
You’ve heard of them, but have you seen them?
That said, Aldi’s well-known brand, Café Bustelo, is one of them.
This famously potent espresso powder comes in a unique yellow packaging (easy to find on the shelf), and it’s pretty cheap no matter where you buy it.
We recommend using it in a 1:1 ratio with more expensive flavored coffee grounds to make cold brew at home.
The flavor is rich and chocolatey, and sipping it will give you an instant buzz of caffeine.
However, if you can’t find Café Bustelo on Aldi’s shelves, you might find Aldi’s own version, Café Bodega.
Redditor u/Mocha_Bean (aptly named) gave it a full review.
5. Barissimo Donut Store Ground Coffee
The “doughnut shop” coffee shouldn’t taste like a donut (raise your hand if you think it is, as I do); instead, it should complement the fresh glazed donuts in the store.
That means “bold, clean and delicious,” a simple, direct flavor that doesn’t try to fight or compete with the simple, direct flavor of donuts.
Enter the Donut Shop Ground Coffee Labeled by Barissimo, which AldiReview.com reports is a complete Dunkin’ Donut Ground Coffee scam.
“Our testers said they couldn’t taste a difference,” said the Aldi reviewer.
It’s also $3 cheaper than Dunkin’ at $3.99 and $7.19, respectively.
4. Selected Fair Trade German Premium Roast Coffee Powder – Regular
According to Aldi’s website, this premium coffee from Specially Selected is 100% Arabica beans and has “a rich flavor and aroma.”
According to Coffee Affect, “German coffee is much milder than roasted coffee in other countries.”
The commenter went on to say that German coffee “makes the beans work”.
This Aldi German coffee was highly rated by The Kitchn, who wrote: “…it surprised us.”
“…this coffee is better than anything we’ve ever made at home.”
They call it the best $5 you can spend at Aldi.
This review led Mashed to declare the German roast coffee grounds to be the best coffee grounds Aldi sells.
3. Stoke Cold Brew Coffee
Another branded item is coffee from Walmart and Tops Friendly Markets.
If you’re going the store-bought cold brew route, this is the way, luckily, Aldi US carries it!
This coffee is absolutely delicious and I go to it every morning (yes, even when it’s snowing outside).
It has a nice bold flavor, natural sweetness, and no sourness. This is a highly drinkable cold brew that tastes even better with the creamer of your choice.
2. Barissimo Mint Mocha
These coffee pods are another personal favorite of mine, but unfortunately, they’re from Aldi Find – so they’re not available year-round.
But if/when Aldi shows up with them again, likely around winter break, you should definitely snap them up.
They’re sweet but not greasy, the mint is just enough to energize the coffee, and because they’re pods, they’re easy to make—no mess, no fuss.
When I picked up these, they were right next to the coffee pods and they were clearly deceived – Starbucks Mint Mocha.
the difference? Try the full three dollars because it’s three dollars cheaper in the Barissimo version. I put the Starbucks pods back and pick them up. This is the best decision ever!
1. Simply Nature Fair Trade Organic Whole Bean Coffee – Peru
This is the one Aldi that everyone seems to agree on – it’s the best whole bean at the retailer.
It appeared on Running in a Skirt’s 10 Best List, and Aldi Reviewer singled it out for its flavor.
This Reddit thread about my favorite coffee mentions it multiple times.
“Whole bean single origin Peruvians cost $5 per bag, three times the cost compared to artisanal coffee from independent roasters,” one wrote.
They continued, “It’s an insane value.”
Worth trying? Must try how!
One more thing you should avoid…
In 2021, Aldi has released a tempting new coffee dessert: Barissimo Sparkling Cold Brew Coffee, available in Black Currant and Lime Ginger.
Don’t, I repeat, don’t let curiosity get the better of you.
I’m not sure who green-marked these, but they’re pretty weird.
They took my taste buds on a wild ride that felt like an abstract dreamland with no apparent context.
However, the good news is that they really gave me something new that I had never tasted before.
However, the bad news is that they are not like anything I would like to taste again.

in conclusion
Whether it’s Barissimo, Specially Selected or a selection of name brands, Aldi is known for its premium coffee.
There’s something for everyone, including plenty of creamer flavors in the cooler, inexpensive coffee that’s rich, delightful, and affordable, you can try one of these.
