Does Wayfair ship to Puerto Rico? (all you must know)
Wayfair operates in several countries, but is primarily based in the United States, where it is home to Boston, Massachusetts.
But what if you live outside the U.S. territory or the adjoining 48 states? Does Wayfair ship for you, and if so, is it free?
Does Wayfair ship to Puerto Rico, and if so, how much does it cost? I have the answer you want.
Will Wayfair ship to Puerto Rico in 2022?
Wayfair does ship to Puerto Rico, with the caveat that “additional fees or shipping restrictions may apply.” However, most (if not all) parts of Puerto Rico do appear to fall under regular shipping guidelines at no additional cost. Free shipping on purchases over $35.

Does Wayfair ship to all states?
Wayfair does ship to all U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
However, customers who live in non-consecutive 48 states may not be eligible for free shipping over $35 due to shipping costs to more remote locations.
But not everyone who lives outside the continental U.S. has to pay the extra fee.
For example, I entered various zip codes into the “Ship to” section of a Wayfair shopping cart from Puerto Rico, including the major cities of San Juan and Ponce, but also smaller towns.
In each case, free shipping over $35 applies, which leads me to believe there is no extra cost for shipping to Puerto Rico.
However, something interesting does happen with the delivery methods under the various projects.
When I enter the ZIP as part of 48 consecutive states, the item shows free shipping, plus an estimated date of arrival.
But when I enter a zip code that belongs to Puerto Rico, it becomes “free ground” but doesn’t arrive at the estimate.
So it seems that while shipping to Puerto Rico is still as affordable as shipping to New York or California, it will take longer.
An example of a state that incurs additional costs is Alaska.
Due to Alaska’s geography, free shipping over $35 does not apply.
When you enter an Alaska zip code, you’ll get a message: “This zip code is outside our normal delivery zone and we’re unable to offer free shipping.”
Conversely, as the total price in the cart goes up, so does the shipping cost.
So for an item priced at $25, you’ll pay an additional $39 for shipping—more than the cost of the item itself.
For almost worth the cart $500will cost $118.98 Shipping.
A cart over $2,000 will cost an additional $636 in shipping!
So, while Wayfair may ship to all 50 states and US territories, if you live outside of its normal delivery area, you will have to pay quite a bit extra.
Is Wayfair shipping expensive?
In general, Wayfair shipping is very affordable—just $4.99 if your total is under $35, or completely free if your order is over $35.
However, this only applies to the contiguous 48 states and some territories, such as Puerto Rico.
For example, if you live in Alaska or Hawaii, you’re outside of Wayfair’s normal delivery area and you’ll have to pay a substantial fee to have your item shipped in.
For example, to ship orders over $1,000, if you live in Alaska or Hawaii, there will be an additional $558.98 shipping fee.
Will Wayfair ship abroad?
Wayfair does not ship abroad; instead, the vast majority of the countries where Wayfair operates have their own websites and suppliers.
So instead of shipping everything from the US, Wayfair’s international site has its own network of warehouses and dealers in each country.
This means you won’t necessarily find the same thing on Wayfair’s website in every country. They may become differentiated makers and companies.

Wayfair is currently in the US, Canada, Germany, the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
In fact, Wayfair just recently added the Republic of Ireland to their list of available countries in June 2022.

Wayfair does ship to Puerto Rico, just as the company ships to the entire United States and its territories, and even better, the extra shipping doesn’t seem to apply.
Shipping to Puerto Rico, however, does seem to be slower than shipping to the neighboring 48 states—but at least you won’t pay the exorbitant shipping costs you’d pay to ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
