Will Wayfair ship to Australia? (all you must know)
Wayfair, one of the largest fully online home furnishing retailers in the country, also has operations overseas, including a network of overseas warehouses and distribution centers.
While primarily based in the US and Canada, Wayfair also has a strong presence in the UK, Germany and Ireland.
But will Wayfair ship to Australia? It is also common for US companies to do business in Australia. Here’s what you need to know.
Will Wayfair ship to Australia in 2022?
Wayfair stopped shipping to Australia in 2015 after it spun off its Australian arm to similar online homeware retailer Temple & Webster. Wayfair chose to focus its business on the North American and European markets. Founded in 2011, Temple & Webster currently has over 180,000 items available for purchase.

Do they have Wayfair in Australia?
As it happens, Wayfair used to do business in Australia.
In 2015, however, Wayfair sold its Australian operations to a similar Australian company, Temple & Webster.
Wayfair CEO and co-founder Niraj Shah explains it this way:
“As we continue to rapidly expand our business in North America and Europe, we are strategically focusing our resources on these two very large markets.”
Will Wayfair be too fragmented in the Australian market when most of Wayfair’s business is based in the US and Europe? possible.
Temple & Webster was an up-and-coming online retailer at the time, founded in 2022.
It was and is very similar to Wayfair in that it’s all online and sells homewares, furniture, and more.
However, some sites claim they can ship Wayfair items to Australia if there is no other way.
YoreOyester.com claims you can buy from Wayfair, ship your item to a duty free warehouse in Oregon, and then forward your item to you in Australia.
If you’re in Australia and you see something you absolutely must have on US Wayfair’s website, this might be an option.
What is the Australian equivalent of Wayfair?
A rival to Australia’s Wayfair is Temple & Webster, to which Wayfair sold its Australian operations in 2015.
Temple & Webster, like Wayfair, sells homewares and decorations entirely online.
The CEO and co-founder of Temple & Webster spoke about the acquisition,
“Temple & Webster’s strong brand identity and unique capabilities, combined with a combination of well-curated and showcased products, high-quality editorial and Wayfair’s broad offerings, world-class technology platform and exceptional speed of delivery, combine to inspire its loyal membership base. A unique capability that will provide every Australian with an unparalleled online shopping experience.”
The two sites are similar to today, with similar landing pages and layouts, including a menu on the left side of the page, and filters for product searches.
In which countries is Wayfair located?
While they are no longer in Australia, Wayfair is currently in the US, Canada, UK, Germany and now the Republic of Ireland.
They have offices in Berlin, London and Galway, with warehouses and distribution centres all over the place, making better use of their Wayfair home delivery network.
Where do Wayfair products ship from?
Wayfair items are shipped from one of two locations: Wayfair warehouses, strategically placed throughout the US and Europe, or from the supplier’s warehouse itself.
More often, the item is shipped from the supplier’s warehouse without touching Wayfair’s hands at all.
What is the most popular furniture store in Australia?
If you’re craving a Wayfair-like shopping experience, but you’re in Australia (where Wayfair isn’t), you’re not out of options.
The first was Temple & Webster, a home furnishing company that acquired Wayfair’s Australian operations.
