Apple pay is simply an electronic payment mode available to people using Apple products, for various applications and the Safari web browser, public transport and some non-IT organizations.
The system helps relieve people of the burden of having to carry an actual wallet, allowing them to pay with their phone or smartwatch. This is a common payment method, but not all retailers accept it.
For example, Walmart doesn’t accept Apple Pay and has no intention of doing so. Companies like Trader Joe’s only allow it in certain places. Costco, Target, Sierra Trending Stores, Home Goods and more fully accept Apple Pay.

Does Marshalls accept Apple Pay?
Unfortunately, Apple Pay is not accepted in Marshalls stores, but you can use it online. However, Marshalls does accept a variety of payment methods such as VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and TJX Rewards Cards.
Besides electronic payments, it also accepts other types of payments. Allowed payment methods vary based on your location in the world.
While Apple Pay is a popular electronic payment method and Marshalls is a well-known retailer in the US, it does not accept in-store or electronic transfers.
One of its sister stores, TJ Maxx, allows Apple Pay for both in-store and digital purchases. Other contactless payments such as Samsung Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and other electronic payments can also be accepted. You’ll get a 2% refund when you make purchases with your Apple Pay account.
Customers can pay with cash, electronic transfers, business credit cards, Marshalls, TJ.Maxx, HomeGoods gift cards, or in-store Visa gift cards and other premium brand gift cards. Customers who shop online can also pay using their PayPal account.
Why Marshalls doesn’t use Apple Pay
For confidentiality and convenience, Marshalls uses a first-party payment system. Marshalls offers its payment mechanism and doesn’t require Apple Pay. Therefore, most outlets do not accept Apple Pay payments.
It wants customers to pay for goods and services without involving third-party companies. Only Marshalls and its customers participate in payments and discounts. Marshalls can also build first-party payment methods for less money than electronic payment methods.
Did Marshalls allow Apple Pay before?
Marshalls was one of the businesses shutting down Apple Pay. If a sibling store like TJ Maxx allows Apple Pay and continues to do so, it shows it did.
It ended the use of Apple Pay after designing its own first-party payment mechanism, the TJX card, as a transaction method. Other retailers don’t support Apple Pay because they don’t have the infrastructure to process contactless payments; however, Marshalls doesn’t fall into this group.
They have an electronic payment system, but they choose not to accept Apple Pay. This category includes Bed Bath & Beyond, Hobby Lobby, K-Mart and Lowe’s.
Does Marshalls accept Apple Pay for internet transactions?
In-store or digitally, Marshall does not accept Apple Pay. However, e-shopping on its web page allows alternatives to contactless payments such as PayPal and TJX cards.

Open the app and find the business you are looking for. To learn more about a store, click on its location.
There is a section titled “Nice to Know”. There will be a checkmark and an Apple Pay button there. If not, it is not compatible with Apple Pay.
What other types of electronic payments does Marshalls accept?
Marshalls offers options like credit and debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, gift cards, and store credit cards you can use to pay. Marshalls and its subsidiaries TJ Maxx, Sierra Trading Post and Home Good offer TJX credit cards to their consumers.
Cardholders are rewarded for every dollar spent at Marshalls or its partner businesses. There are two types of TJX credit cards; TJX Rewards and TJX Rewards Platinum are the two types of TJX Rewards. It offers customers a 5% refund policy.
First-time users get a 10% rebate.
