Is DoorDash safe? (Debit cards, female drivers, etc!)
For all online food delivery businesses these days, the safety of delivery workers is their top priority, and they compete with each other in this area. DoorDash is rated as one of the safest online food delivery services with best-in-class security to keep customers and employees safe.
So is DoorDash safe? Will they protect your credit card information? And how to work as a Dasher without worrying about security?
Is DoorDash safe?
DoorDash is considered very secure when it comes to protecting customers’ debit and credit card information. Dashers also don’t have access to customers’ phone numbers or any personal information, and their backgrounds are checked before deliveries begin.
As for workers, being a DoorDash delivery driver is also considered safe, especially during the day.
Whenever you order something from the internet, there is always some risk that you don’t know what’s going on on the other end.
But in the case of DoorDash, it kept the personal information of workers and customers safe by taking high-security measures.
Read on to learn more about DoorDash’s security measures.
Is DoorDash safe for workers?
DoorDash is a great option if you want to earn extra money while working on a schedule because you can work whenever you want.
You can work as a DoorDash deliveryman or dasher after conducting a proper background check with your consent.
DoorDash is a second job for most people, and to keep you safe, you’ll need to enter all of your details when signing up, including name, address, phone number, social security number, and email address.
Safety should be a priority for dashers, and if they have a safety issue, there is always the option to refuse delivery rather than get themselves into some kind of trouble.
Is DoorDash safe for customers?
Customers ordering from DoorDash are less concerned because DoorDash doesn’t share their real phone numbers with employees.
With advanced scrambling software, it’s impossible for a delivery driver to know your phone number or email address.
On the other hand, your address is shared with dashers because they need to deliver food to that address, which is unavoidable.
But there’s good news in the end: The customer’s payment information is kept on a secure server, and no DoorDash employee can see or access it.
Will you get scammed on DoorDash?
With all the safety and security you can still get scammed while working as a delivery driver with DoorDash, here are three of the most common scams you should always be aware of and avoid with simple techniques…
The first scam: The first scam is when a customer places an order, they receive your order, but as soon as you leave, they immediately report to support that they didn’t receive the order, and you can get in trouble.
You’ll get a call from customer support and if you’re not happy with your answers, they’ll ask you questions you need to answer or pay for the food.
Second scam: The second is a little harder, you’ll see customers pulling this scam less often because they need to do some extra work to end up scaming you. They will first place an order using the DoorDash customer app, then immediately create a DoorDash delivery driver account on another app.
After creating their account, within 15 minutes, they will be at the same restaurant and waiting to pick up food on your behalf. This will adversely affect your overall delivery driver performance.
You can’t avoid this scam, but you can always find a delivery driver at the same restaurant to check their order. If they happen to receive your order, be sure to report it to DoorDash support and don’t let them leave until everything is done to permanently block their account.
The third scam: The third scam is the hardest of all and not everyone succeeds, but it has happened a lot in the past. This scam is a phishing attack where customers place their orders and when you accept them. You will receive calls from the DoorDash phone number, which you will assume is the official DoorDash support number.
Due to customer security policies, DoorDash hides the real phone number and instead changes the phone number when a customer calls you. The caller will try to convince you that they are from customer support and there is a problem with the server, so they need to log into your account to get everything working again.
After getting your DoorDash account password and email, they will log in to your account and change your bank account to transfer all your hard-earned money into their account. You can easily save yourself from this scam because DoorDash support will never ask for your email and password even if something goes wrong, so never share your personal information with anyone.

Is DoorDash safe to work as a woman?
DoorDash is a very safe way for women who want to support their families or earn extra income to meet basic needs.
Women can avoid delivering meals late at night and instead work during the day because someone will help them if something bad happens.
There have been no incidents involving women since DoorDash launched, but DoorDash officials did advise that female dashers should not place orders in some of the city’s high-crime areas.
Is DoorDash safe for debit/credit cards?
Like all companies, DoorDash can be vulnerable to third-party hackers. However, they take the safety of the community very seriously. DoorDash has a lot of code and unbreakable passwords to avoid security breaches.
Even with their security breached in 2019, hackers don’t have full access to credit and debit card numbers.
Since then, DoorDash has taken more steps to protect your information and security.
Regardless, we recommend that you always check your credit and bank statements for unusual activity.
