Where do Amazon returns go? (Everything you should know..)

Amazon sells a large number of products each year with a simple click, and while most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases, some return products for a variety of reasons, with around 25% of purchases being returned.

However, the question that comes to mind when considering returns is, where did Amazon returns go?

    Where do Amazon returns go?

Amazon returns either go to an Amazon warehouse for resale or go to a clearinghouse.

When a customer returns a product, Amazon processes it at the fulfillment center and then sends it to different warehouses depending on the product

The status of a product being returned will determine where it ends up, for example, an item with little use will be sent directly to an Amazon warehouse.

Other returned items in poor condition, either Amazon’s fault or delivery, are sent to the warehouse and ready to be sold at the clearing site.

How does liquidation work for Amazon?

The idea behind Amazon’s liquidation is primarily to avoid the process of inspecting every returned item, repacking it, and listing it for sale again. It’s not a good idea for Amazon to do this in terms of time and resources.

Instead, what they do is put the returned items in an Amazon warehouse and then sell them to a third-party clearing site so they can sell the items. By selling returns and products that have been in storage for a long time, Amazon manages to profit from what would otherwise be a burden.

Shoppers can also rest assured that the products they return often get a second life, although there is no guarantee that every item will be resold.

    Can I buy Amazon returns?

After Amazon has gone through the process of selling returned items, you can buy them from a clearing company. That way you can look for Amazon pallets, preferably through reputable sellers, and then bid.

Can I resell returned items from Amazon pallets?

Yes, in fact, since companies like Amazon have so much more than they can handle, what you can do in the last few years is a whole other business, so naturally one’s junk is Another man’s treasure.

There’s an interesting story about a family who made their way to success with The Family Flips business by buying pallets from liquidation companies and reselling them to customers.

That’s the beauty of resale. You can become a successful dealer in millions of different ways. Find items you like, find items you can sell the way you want to sell. That’s where you’re going to find success for you.

What types of items did Amazon return?

You can return almost any item that is listed for purchase on Amazon, however, there are some things you cannot do or conditions that need to be met when considering returning a specific product.

According to Amazon, these are the items you cannot return, either under certain conditions or at any time:

    • Laptops, Desktops and Kindles after 30 days of delivery.
    • Products marked as hazardous or hazardous, such as liquids or flammable chemicals (some exceptions may apply, but must be discussed directly with the supplier or manufacturer).
    • Any product without a serial number or UPC.
    • Downloadable content or software.
    • Once the buyer has subscribed, the paid subscription cannot be returned.
    • Gift cards and prepaid video game codes, such as PSN cards, Nintendo credits, or Xbox gift cards. (Sometimes the law intervenes exceptionally).
    • some jewelry
    • Some health and hygiene products.
    • groceries
    • Products with special shipping restrictions.
    • live insects.

    Why do customers return goods?

The reasons vary from case to case and may be due to the item arriving at the buyer in a bad condition, confusion on either side, or the reason may be as simple as the customer changing his mind about the purchase.

However, they do need some good reason to return the item or Amazon will deny the request.

    Does Amazon check returns?

Yes, Amazon does check returns during the refund process because you need to return the same item you purchased.

However, this process can vary from product to product, but the refund to the customer must still be completed before a decision can be made if it is worth reselling or placing it in a pallet for liquidation.

With so many returns Amazon receives, you can expect them not to be inspected under a microscope to make sure they’re still working and/or haven’t lost any parts.

Can Amazon returns be thrown away?

When something doesn’t work, it’s not worth reselling, so yes, if the product no longer does its job, it will be thrown away rather than sent to an Amazon warehouse or filed for liquidation.

Sometimes this is also an option if certain products take up space and end up causing significant financial losses.

Does Amazon have a donation program for returned items?

Yes, they do, and since 2019, Amazon has launched a program called Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) Giving, which will provide quality and conditional returns to donate to charity.

According to Alice Shobe, Director of Community Amazon.

We know that getting products into the hands of those who need them can change lives and strengthen local communities, and we’re excited to extend this program to sellers who use our fulfillment services.

    in conclusion…

When a customer decides to return it, they usually know it won’t go to waste. Depending on the problem and condition of the product, it will have some use unless it is completely or permanently damaged.

Amazon has everything planned, as the product is marked for return, first they inspect and refund the buyer, then they decide whether to return the item to stock or send it to an Amazon warehouse, then start the liquidation process and sell it so that Clearing firms can resell it in pallets and keep the market afloat.
