What is the recruitment process for Hobby Lobby?
Hobby Lobby’s hiring process can be broken down into four main steps; application, interview, math test, and hiring decision.
So let’s take a closer look at what happens at each stage.
1. Application
To start applying online, go to the Hobby Lobby careers page.
Here, you’ll find a scrolling banner that showcases the different job categories within the store (for example, retail hours, trucking, or art/creative).
Once you’ve found the category that best fits the position you’re applying for, click the blue “View Openings” button on the right side of the screen.
Depending on the position, you will see instructions on how to apply. For example, some positions require candidates to apply in person, while others require online applications.
Still, most hourly retail positions require in-person applications. While this may seem painful, it’s a great opportunity to meet and build a rapport with the hiring manager.
2. Interview
If your application passes the initial screening process, the store manager will interview you.
Typically, this conversation will last about 30 minutes and is an opportunity to learn more about the job and share your strengths as an applicant.
3. Math Test
Immediately after the interview, you will be asked to complete a math test.
With it, it covers basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percentages. Unfortunately, calculators are not allowed.
4. Recruitment decisions
Depending on the hiring manager and the store you’re applying to, you may be hired right after your interview.
In other cases, you may have to wait a few days to hear about the hiring decision. Usually, you will receive a response within a week, so feel free to check if it exceeds this time.
Also, please note that the offer is contingent upon passing a background check.
