How to use USPS QR codes (all you need to know)
Whether you’re using a USPS Click-N-Ship or need to return something in the mail, your efforts may stop when you realize you don’t have a printer.
Fortunately, the USPS offers you a service called Label Broker. You will receive a QR code that you can show to the post office staff and they will print your label for you. But if you’re wondering how to use a USPS QR code, you’re not alone. I have your method below!
How to use USPS QR codes in 2022
In 2022, the USPS QR code will be emailed to you when you select “Print at the Post Office” in Click-N-Ship. You take that email with your package to the post office, show it to the clerk at the counter, and they print it out, label it, and put your package into the system.
To learn more about Label Agent, the program that makes this possible, whether you can print labels from QR codes, and whether you can use QR codes at self-service kiosks, read on!
What is a USPS Label Broker?
USPS Label Broker is a free program that allows customers who do not have access to a printer to print their labels at the Post Office.
Whether you’re making a return or sending something with Click-N-Ship for the first time, Label Broker can help if you don’t have a printer.
If you already have the QR code because you are returning it, you can skip the next few paragraphs.
If you use Click-N-Ship, to generate a QR code using Label Broker, navigate to your Shipping History. \
On the row for the label you want to print, click Label Details. Once it pops up, you’ll see tab actions on the left.
Click “Print at Post Office”.
You will eventually receive an email from USPS with a QR code.
OK, so you have your QR code – next, pack your package and take it with you to a Label Broker-enabled post office.
(You can perform a search here; press Show Filters and select Label Broker from the Mailing Services list.)
You will go to the front desk and show them your QR code. They’ll scan it, print the label, attach it, and take your package.
After that, it’s in the system and you’re done.
A few things to note: If you need to print multiple labels at the post office, you will receive multiple emails with multiple QR codes.
Additionally, you can request a label proxy QR code after previously indicating that you will print the label yourself.
Will USPS print your labels with QR codes?
Your local post office may use the QR code provided by Label Broker to print your labels.
To find out which post office near you has a Label Proxy printer, go to Find USPS Locations, select Display Filters, and click the box next to Label Proxy.
Hit search and the results will tell you which post office you can take the QR code to.
Also, if your location has an automated package dropper, you can print labels from it.
How do I scan a USPS QR code?
There is another situation where the USPS gives you a QR code.
If you received PS Form 3849 because your package was undeliverable, you may see a QR code on the form.
You can scan this code if you want to reschedule your delivery when you are free.
If you have a newer Apple or Android device, all you need to do is turn on the camera and point it at the QR code; a yellow box should appear around the code, reading it automatically.
However, if you have an older device, you must download a QR code reader.
The QR code will take you to the URL listed, usps.com/redelivery; it’s just a shortcut, so you don’t have to enter it.
Can you print shipping labels from QR codes?
You can’t print USPS shipping labels from a QR code; that’s the post office’s unique domain name.
If you would like to access your shipping labels for printing, simply log into your USPS.com account, navigate to Click-N-Ship, and bring up your shipping history.
Can you use QR codes at USPS kiosks?
As far as my research goes, you can’t use a USPS QR code at a kiosk.
Instead, you have to bring your package and QR code to the front desk and have the staff there print the label.

in conclusion
Using USPS QR codes generated by Label Broker is quick, easy and convenient. Just bring your QR code and package to the front desk of your local post office, and the clerk will scan, print and label it – all for free.
