How to Invalidate USPS Labels (All You Need to Know)

But what happens if you print a shipping label and the address is misspelled? Or what if you used the wrong shipping date? Well, if you’re wondering how to get rid of the USPS label, you’ve come to the right place. I have the answers you need!
How to invalidate USPS labels?
USPS Click-N-Ship labels are automatically voided after the shipping deadline; after that, you can request a refund in 2022. If you need to fix an error, you must create and print a new label, then request a refund for the old label after the shipping deadline has passed.

Can you cancel the USPS shipping label?
Rather than cancel USPS Click-N-Ship labels, we encourage customers to invalidate the labels—each with a ship date—and then request a refund.
This should be the protocol, whether you find a typo or error on the label, if the label is printed without a barcode, or even if you miss the original print deadline.
However, please note that you cannot change the label after it has been printed; you can simply print a new one and apply for a refund for the old one.
Can you get a refund on the USPS shipping label?
If you find a mistake on a shipping label, or you just changed your mind about shipping something, you can invalidate the label and ask for a refund.
You can do this by logging into your USPS.com account and navigating to Click-N-Ship.
In the upper right corner, there is a menu bar; select Shipping History.
There, you’ll see all the tags you’ve created, their status, and more.
Select the tab you want to refund (by clicking the box next to it), then in the Action drop-down menu, select the Refund tab.
Click the Continue button, then click Yes when the pop-up message appears confirming your choice.
You will receive two emails: first, when you make a request for a refund, and then when you take some action, either confirming or denying your request.
You have up to 30 days from the date of the transaction to request a refund online.
After that, you have up to 60 days (after the transaction date) to email the Click-N-Ship Help Desk.
Select USPS.com as the reason for your inquiry, then select Click-N-Ship.
You will need to include the following information in your email:
- your username
- Your Click-N-Ship account
- the number associated with your label
- Transaction date and transaction number
Regardless of how you apply for a refund, if your application is accepted, you will have 14 days to return the funds to your account.
How do I change the shipping label on USPS?
You cannot change shipping labels purchased with USPS Click-N-Ship.
No edit/reprint functionality. Instead, you must invalidate the label and request a refund.
When you created the label, you entered a shipping date. Just let that date pass, then go into your shipping history and request a refund.
If approved, you will receive your refund within 14 days. At the same time, you can create a new tab with the correct information.
However, you should not try to cross out anything on the error label and write new information.
Any attempt to do so will result in your package being returned to you, so you are at the starting point.
How long is the USPS label valid for?
Your USPS Click-N-Ship label is only valid for the delivery period.
When you create a Click-N-Ship label, you enter the date and time you plan to ship the item.
You can currently create labels up to three days in advance.
However, some post offices may allow you to ship the package the next business day, but this is entirely at the discretion of the individual locations.
How do I cancel a USPS shipping label on eBay?
If you get the USPS shipping label through eBay first, you can actually cancel it.
Go to Manage Shipping Labels and select the item you want to unship the shipping label.
In the Action column, select More Actions; there, you should see a Void option.
You’ll then choose a reason for the label to be voided, and you can even send the buyer a message explaining why.
Select Void Shipping Label and you’re done. Please note that you have up to five days to void your USPS shipping labels printed through eBay.

in conclusion
When using Click-N-Ship to void USPS shipping labels, there is no direct way to do this. Instead, you let the shipping deadline pass and ask for a refund.
It’s the same whether you found an error on the shipping label or decided not to ship, but you should get your money back within 14 days.
