How to fix FedEx Meter Number not registered error?
Having meters is great for saving money on shipping and tracking packages, so you’ll definitely notice when it doesn’t work.
In fact, you may receive the error message “Failed to register meter: The shipping address provided does not match our records” when obtaining rates or creating labels using FedEx services.
You typically see this error when using third-party shipping software. This happens because the “Shipping Address” location does not match the shipping address on your FedEx account.
There are two things you can do to try to fix this problem:
- Go to Settings > Shipping > Carriers & Fulfillment and click the Settings link for your FedEx account. Update your FedEx account address to match your FedEx shipping address, then click OK.
- Go to Settings > Shipping > Ship From Location and edit “Shipping From Location”. Update the “Ship From” address to match your FedEx shipping address and click “Save Changes”.
To double check that this intervention is working, go back to the Orders tab and try to get the rate for the same order that returns an error.
If you fix the problem, the error message should disappear and FedEx rates should appear.
