Aldi Candles (Types, Prices, Quality, Scents, etc.)
Candles are the perfect way to brighten up your home, whether it’s eliminating the smell of yesterday’s dinner or making sure everything is perfect before guests arrive.
However, major fragrance product suppliers can charge you expensive fees.
Aldi is known for super-low prices on kitchen and pantry staples, but they’ve also upped the ante in the homewares department with products like essential oils and affordable candles. How do they stack up? let’s see.
What types of candles does Aldi sell?
Aldi sells candles as part of its Everyday and Aldi Finds collections. These candles are available in three-wick, two-wick and one-wick, with three-wick candles often being part of the Everyday range. Aldi Finds candles come in many different shapes, sizes and scents and change seasonally. Three-wick Aldi candles start at $3.99.
Let’s break it down further and learn more about some of the popular types of candles that Aldi sells (or has sold).
Huntington’s three-wick candle
For Bath and Body Works candle fans around the world, I have some very good news: Aldi’s Huntington Home 3-Wick (14 oz) Candle is totally scammed by the $24 3-Wick Candle sold by B&BW.
That’s right: for a fraction — literally one-sixth — of the price of the Huntington Home (HH, from now on) collection, which currently features scents like rosewater sangria and blood orange persimmon, for only To name a few, it can be bought – against the best.
In fact, Aldi announced via their social media accounts that the HH three-wicks will now always be in stores.
Some shoppers (me included) don’t realize they’ve been on shelves so frequently for months, but they’re happy to hear they don’t have to worry about them disappearing.
HH candles are now also regularly featured in the Aldi Finds aisle.
Different scents correspond to different seasons and holidays; around Mother’s Day, for example, Aldi releases a rose bouquet scent, while in autumn you can look forward to things like spiced pumpkin.
Huntington House Luxury Single Wick Candle
A few years ago, Aldi fans in the UK went crazy over the HH Luxury single-wick candle, which came in a glass jar taller than it was wide and had a silver lid with a black bow.
They’ve gone crazy because the HH luxury candle is a complete knockoff of the Jo Malone London candle – which costs almost $70 (or £50).
Aldi’s line includes scents like English Pear & Freesia and Pomegranate Noir, which cost just $7 each in the US.
These deluxe single wicks are only available at Aldi, so they won’t be in stock every day.
You’ll have to keep an eye out for announcements and on Aldi’s website the next time it’s back in stock – and get there early! UK residents reported waiting in long queues for the new release in 2017.
Huntington House Jar Candles
Occasionally, Aldi will feature Huntington Home’s large jar candles, mimicking the type of jar candles you might find at Yankee Candle, Bath and Body Works, or any high-end department store.
Sometimes these bear the “Signed Huntington House” label.
They come in different sizes, shapes, and scents, but the difference from Everyday HH candles is that they usually don’t come in clear glass jars.
Some past examples include opaque but lustrous pastel glass, ceramic pots, and even an extra-wide, low tri-wick that looks like a bowl.
Huntington’s Home Small Jar or Tin Candles
Aldi also offers HH candles in small jars, usually in packs of three. During the holidays, these may come in decorative jars, or in the spring; they may feature geometric and stained glass jars in several different colors.
Some very popular recent examples include macaron candles in frosted glass jars.
Available in a set of three, a set includes scents like caramel, lemon, sea salt, and vanilla for just $7.99.
How much are Aldi candles?
While prices for Aldi candles vary, one thing that unifies them all is that they’re significantly less expensive than name-brand knockoffs.
HH Triple Wicks (Everyday Collection) are only $3.99 each. Larger jar candles run between $5.99 and $12.99 (could be a bit more, depending on availability, but I think I’ve seen the most).
HH Jo Malone knockoffs cost just $7 each, almost one-seventh the price of the luxury brand’s offerings.
Depending on the size and number of jars in the pack, you can pay $2.99 to $7.99 for a small jar set.
Do Aldi candles work?
For the most part, even a skeptical public accepts Aldi’s candle because it smells good.
Some highlights include the aforementioned English pear and freesia (which is my personal favorite; I burned this one to the bottom!), red, white, and blueberry, and rosewater sangria.
However, some people find the candles too strong or have an unpleasant smell. One group in particular, a winter-themed quartet led by It’s Snow Joke, has received two thumbs down on the internet.
One Redditor who sniffed it said it made them “literally gag.”
Of course, this is all a matter of personal preference, and no one is going to look at you funny for taking the time to sniff everything out.
Aldi shoppers also commented on the quality of the candles, especially the HH three-wick candles. Not only are they a fraction of the price of B&BW, but AldiReviewer.com also reports that they burn evenly and not too quickly, making your $4 investment even better.
I can attest; I have a rosewater sangria from a few months ago that is still half full and used occasionally.
Where is Aldi Candles located in-store?
Navigating to the Aldi Candles store will take you two to several different aisles.
First, the HH three-wick everyday candle sits in the home aisle alongside paper products (think: toilet paper, paper towels). Of course, I’ve only seen them on the top shelf, right in their shipping box.
They are easy to spot thanks to their gleaming silver lids.
Aldi Finds candles will of course be in the Aldi Finds aisle, but don’t expect them all to be displayed in one place. Aldi tends to spread them out, so if you’re looking for a specific type, you’ll have to peruse.
Does Aldi sell wax melts?
Wax melts near candles are a popular flameless option, and Aldi sells them occasionally but not every day, which is unfortunate because their wax melts are just as good as candles.
Look for them in the Aldi Finds section, they come in different scents to suit the season, or write to Aldi and let them know you like them in store full time!

in conclusion
Aldi fans know that shopping in these stores is like a treasure hunt, and the candles are no different.
The company mixes things up to keep their candle varieties fun, fresh, and often very on-trend, while selling high-quality scents with long-lasting wax for a fraction of the cost you’d pay elsewhere.
