Can I ship AA batteries through USPS?
As any shipper knows, shipping lithium-ion batteries is Process. How about sending AA batteries or AAA batteries internationally?
While the USPS has no restrictions on shipping AA batteries domestically, you cannot ship them (or any other alkaline batteries) internationally. Here’s what the USPS has to say about this, in the same section of Postal Explorer on Corrosives:
“Spill-proof batteries with UN2800 are prohibited in international mail.”
Unfortunately, because the USPS considers alkaline batteries (such as AA, AAA, C, and D) as “spill-proof” batteries, you can only ship them within the US, not internationally.
