Costco Jewelry Return Policy
Costco accepts returns of jewelry, such as rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets, anytime after in-store and online purchases. To return gold and diamond jewelry of 1.00 carats or more, you must bring IGI and GIA documentation to authenticate the jewelry.

How long do you have to return jewelry items to Costco?

With such a generous return policy, customers can return jewelry to Costco at any time after purchasing it at their local Costco warehouse.
What jewelry items can you return to Costco?
Costco sells the following types of jewelry items:
- ring
- earrings
- necklace
- Bracelet
These jewelry come in solid gold, set with diamonds, fashion (faux) jewelry or set with birthstones.
Costco allows members to return jewelry items in all of these categories both in-store and online.
However, for gold or diamond items over 1.00 carats, you will be issued a GIA and IGI report, which you must bring with you to allow your jewelry to be authenticated before being returned.
How do I return jewelry purchased on Costco.com?
You can return jewelry purchased on the Costco website for a full refund of the item price plus shipping and handling charges you paid.
To return a jewelry item purchased online, you have two options. You can bring jewelry items to the help desk at any Costco location along with relevant documentation such as receipts, IGI and GIA reports.
If your jewelry is over 1.00 carats or includes a diamond solitaire ring, it will be sent to Costco’s fulfillment center, which will first verify the jewelry item within 5 business days before you receive your refund.
Alternatively, you can return jewelry items by contacting Costco Customer Support and mentioning that you would like to return such items.
Additionally, Costco will ask for information such as your name, order confirmation number, phone number, reason for the return, and the validity status of the card you used to pay for it.
Once Costco receives the information, they will arrange for UPS to pick up your item and ship it to their fulfillment center for verification.
You should receive your refund to the debit/credit card you used for payment within up to 2 weeks.
Due to shipping times and the time required to verify the product, this return method may take longer than going directly to the Costco warehouse.
However, Costco’s policy ensures that your refund will be processed after verification is complete.
How do I return jewelry to a Costco store?
To return your jewelry to a Costco store, you should go to the service desk at any Costco warehouse (not necessarily the warehouse where you originally purchased it).
You must bring any documents you received with your purchase, such as receipts and IGI and GIA documents.
Once these items are provided, you will be issued a jewelry credit note and within 48 hours your item will be sent for verification of authenticity by a Costco Graduate Gemologist to check its authenticity.
If the paperwork is in order and the item has been verified to be the same as a previous purchase, you will receive a refund via the payment method used to purchase it.
Can you return jewelry to Costco without a receipt?
According to Costco’s return policy, you do not necessarily need a receipt to return jewelry items. However, you must have your membership card and the payment card you used to make the purchase.
Costco can use these as a replacement for receipts to track and verify your purchases.
Please note that Costco will not process returns without relevant documentation such as IGI and GIA reports, especially for jewelry items that are 1.00 carats or larger.
Can you return a damaged jewelry item to Costco?
If you damage your jewelry or receive damaged merchandise from Costco, you should take your item (along with the associated documentation you received) to the customer service counter at any Costco warehouse.
Your chances of getting a refund may depend on whether the damage was done before or after your purchase, with the final decision being made by the store manager.
If you do not provide your IGI and/or GIA files with your purchase, you will not receive any refund.
If you just want to have your jewelry repaired, you will have to go to another store because Costco does not offer jewelry repair or cleaning services.
It is recommended that you purchase insurance for your jewelry in the unfortunate event of loss, damage or theft.
However, watch repairs do fall under Costco’s customer satisfaction policy, so Costco will attempt to repair, replace, or refund (for a fee) your product if it is needed.
When you request this service at the customer service counter, you will need to provide your receipt/documentation with your watch.
How does Costco jewelry returns work for non-members?
Costco’s return policy is different for non-members, so if you receive jewelry from Costco as a gift and want to return it, it must be done personally by the member who purchased it.
Note that Costco does not offer gift receipts, gift cards or store credits for purchases made by non-members.
Therefore, the only option for non-members to return jewelry is to ask the Costco member who originally purchased the jewelry.
