Can I track the location of the FedEx truck that holds my package?
While FedEx’s tracking system is so advanced that it provides nearly real-time tracking updates, it doesn’t allow customers to track FedEx trucks that deliver packages.
This is because tracking tells you where the package was last scanned. So that could be when it’s put on a truck for delivery, or when it’s delivered.
FedEx can track its own trucks, but given the potential for theft, that information is unlikely to be available to the public.
Can you track FedEx ground packages without a tracking number?
If for some reason you don’t have a tracking number, you can still track your package using the reference number associated with your shipment.
Alternatively, you can use the purchase order number for tracking.
Additionally, you can use the FedEx Delivery Manager tool to find packages without a tracking number.
Registration is free; all you need to do is enter your name, shipping address, email address and phone number.
After entering this information, you will be prompted to create a user ID and password, as well as a secret question and answer for security purposes.
