Is FedEx Hiring 15, 16 or 17 in 2022?
By 2022, FedEx will no longer hire minors under the age of 18. While minors are allowed to work up to 14 years old in some places, they are not allowed to work in hazardous conditions, like FedEx. Minors also cannot work at FedEx due to limited availability. They are only allowed to work after school until 11:00pm.

Can you work at FedEx at 15?
While the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) generally sets the minimum working age at 14, FedEx does not hire 15-year-olds.
It’s not entirely clear why this isn’t, but one potential reason is that the FLSA generally prohibits minors from working in hazardous or hazardous conditions.
In fact, many entry-level jobs at FedEx, such as package movers, require lifting weights or using machinery, both of which are considered dangerous activities for minors.
Can a 16-year-old work at FedEx?
It doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 16, it doesn’t matter who you hire at FedEx. You are not eligible to work for a company until you are 18 years old.
As mentioned in the previous section, many jobs at FedEx require employees to (potentially) put themselves at risk. Therefore, minors are prohibited from taking these roles.
Can a 17-year-old work at FedEx?
Even if you’re only a few months away from your 18th birthday, you’re not eligible to work at FedEx.
FedEx package handlers must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or earned a general equivalency (GED).
If you’re interested in becoming a driver or courier, you’ll need to wait until you’re 21.
This is because these roles require a commercial driver’s license, which can only be obtained at the age of 21 or older.
Why do you have to be 18 to work at FedEx?
There are at least three reasons why an employee must be at least 18 years old to work at FedEx.
One is due to the nature of the work. In short, it’s dangerous.
As a package handler, you will be required to work in a noisy factory environment surrounded by large machinery. Also, you need to lift and carry heavy packages.
Minors are prohibited from working in this environment due to all potential harm that could result.
Another reason for not allowing minors to work at FedEx is unusual working hours.
Entry-level FedEx employees tend to work shifts as follows:
- sunrise- 4:00 am to 9:00 am
- sky- 11:00am to 4:30pm
- twilight- 5:30pm to 10:00pm
- midnight- 11:00pm to 4:00am
Each state has different rules about when minors can work, but generally they are not allowed to work before 6:30am or after 11:00pm.
Therefore, minors can only work in evening shifts. This is simply not very convenient for hiring managers trying to fill their schedules.
A third reason FedEx employees must be at least 18 is that FedEx requires a high school diploma or GED to work at the company.
Generally, a person needs to be at least 18 years old to obtain any of these qualifications.

in conclusion
Trying to find companies willing to hire teens can be frustrating. Unfortunately, FedEx is not a company that employs individuals under the age of 18.
This may be due to the hazardous nature of the job, unusual working hours and educational requirements. But just because FedEx doesn’t hire 15-, 16-, or 17-year-olds doesn’t mean you won’t find another place to do so. Stay active and keep looking.
