Does Tesco sell stamps? (Everything you need to know!)
As one of the world’s and the UK’s largest retailers, Tesco is renowned for catering for all your home and personal needs.
Tesco sells everything from electronics to clothing to food and toiletries…but, does Tesco sell stamps? Here’s what I found!
Is Tesco selling stamps in 2022?
As of 2022, Tesco does sell stamps. Customers can find stamps at the cigarette kiosks or customer service desks in Tesco stores. Large first class stamps start at £5.16, first class stamps from £5.10 and second class stamps from £3.96.
But what if you don’t have a Tesco near you? Can you buy it online? Read on to find out everything you need to know to find out if Tesco sells UK postage stamps on their website and if it’s an economical option.
Does Tesco sell stamps online?
Yes, the good news is that Tesco does sell UK postage stamps on their website.
I looked at their online store and found that there are a variety of packages and the prices are no different than what you can buy in their store. You can have your stamps delivered right to your door or choose the click and collect option.
What stamp packs does Tesco offer?
Both first-class and second-class stamps are available in 6- and 12-packs of regular stamps and 4-packs of jumbo stamps.
However, Tesco sometimes runs out of stock, so you may not always find everything you have in store or online.
Buying a larger pack of stamps doesn’t always save you money when it comes to stamp selection.
For example, a pack of 6 regular first class stamps costs £0.85 each, which is the same as a pack of 12.
One of the real benefits of buying bulk packs is that you don’t have to worry about restocking.
Does Tesco offer free UK Post stamps?
No, Tesco charges for all items bought on its website and delivered to your door. The minimum delivery fee is £4.50, which was increased last summer due to high demand for deliveries during the lockdown.
Additionally, there is a minimum spending cap of £25 to be eligible for any deliveries.
Customers who regularly ship from Tesco opt for the Delivery Saver subscription which costs £7.99/month and gives you free delivery and free Click & Collect for the same monthly fee.
The catch is that your order total should be at least £40 or more. Tesco has also suspended new registrations for the service due to very high demand, causing logistical issues.
Are stamps cheaper to buy from Tesco than other stores?
I did some digging and researched some other stores to see if it was cheaper to buy stamps from Tesco.
If you want to buy stamps in-store at Tesco, you’ll find no difference in prices to any other retailer or post office. However, prices can vary widely when comparing online.
Compared to Royal Mail’s online store, Tesco’s prices are much more expensive, especially when you buy stamps individually and have them delivered to your home.
Royal Mail offers the same stamps at the exact same price, with delivery costs only £1.45 instead of Tesco’s £4.50.
In Tesco’s defense, you can get your stamps faster because Royal Mail’s website guarantees delivery within 3 to 5 working days. But if you’re not in a rush, it might be a good idea to use them instead of Tesco or any other retailer.
