Unfortunately, effective December 15, 2021, Walmart and Sam’s Club will no longer accept Tricare. Walmart previously offered the program to military families, but has since discontinued the service. Instead, military families can visit Kroger, Rite Aid, Walgreens, and Accredo Health Group for Tricare insurance plans.

Using Tricare at Walmart is simple and straightforward. There are no extra steps required to use this coverage at Walmart.
According to the Tricare website, your healthcare provider will electronically forward your prescription to the Walmart of your choice, or you can bring the physical document.
The only difference from any other insurance is that you must show your uniformed service ID and your insurance card.
Can you refill prescriptions online with Tricare at Walmart?
If you have Tricare insurance, you should be able to use Walmart’s online pharmacy service to fill your prescriptions.
To do this, you must have your existing prescriptions on file and should have refills left over (check your most recent vial).
In addition, customers must enter the prescription holder’s birthday, seven-digit prescription number and four-digit store number. All of these are located on the drug label.
Does Walmart Vision accept Tricare?

While I can’t find any definitive answer to this question, it appears that some military families have had success using Tricare’s vision kits at Walmart Vision Centers.
If so, Tricare covers exams, glasses, and contact lenses.
However, their website states that eyeglass/contact lens coverage is only available to active duty service members and activated Guard/Reserve members.

According to their website, Tricare is a health insurance plan for uniformed military members and their families, as well as National Guard/Reserve members and their families.
Tricare also covers deceased military survivors, ex-spouses, Medal of Honor recipients and their families, and registered members of DEERS.
“And their family members” includes spouses, ex-spouses, children and dependent parents or parents-in-law.
There are currently 11 Tricare health plans, including Tricare Prime, Tricare Select and the US Family Health Plan.
