Does Walmart do the keys? [Price, Type, Locations + More!]
Since Walmart stores are the most convenient place for one-stop shopping, customers are returning in droves.
Given our reliance on home, office, and car access keys, it’s no wonder everyone finds themselves in need of a new key sometimes! So, does Walmart make keys? Here is what I found!
Does Walmart do the keys?
Walmart does offer a key duplication and cutting service. Customers can cut out their own keys at MinuteKey kiosks and replicate them in-store. Prices per key range from $2 to $6 per key. Like all reputable locksmiths, Walmart doesn’t copy “don’t copy the keys.”

How much does it cost to make keys at Walmart?
Luckily, Walmart doesn’t charge extra beyond the cost of the keys themselves (as long as the keys were purchased from Walmart).
As for the price, when using a MinuteKey kiosk, each key costs between $2 and $6, and you’ll need a credit or debit card to pay.
What kind of keys can I make at Walmart?
Conveniently, you can make your home keys or office keys at Walmart without any problems!
The car key is a bit different, though—but if it’s an old enough key that doesn’t have any programming chips in it, you can successfully replicate it at a MinuteKey kiosk.
MinuteKey kiosks are programmed to reject any keys that are duplicate or too technical to reproduce.
Other keys that cannot be duplicated include those marked “Do Not Duplicate,” keys used in public institutions, high-security facilities, schools, or restricted property.
What MinuteKey kiosks are available at Walmart?
Of course, not all Walmart stores have MinuteKey kiosks. But luckily, you can easily search your preferred location on the MinuteKey Kiosk Locator tool on the company’s website to see if your local Walmart has a kiosk.
All you need is a few minutes and your zip code, or your state and city, to have the website find the MinuteKey kiosk closest to you.
How to make keys at Walmart?
The MinuteKey Kiosk utilizes their own robotic technology to instantly copy the key a minute after you start the process! They also offer a user-friendly touchscreen and step-by-step instructions to complete the copying process.
You can choose a design from the many available options, including natural designs, animal prints, cartoons and sports team logos.
Once you select the desired option, the kiosk uses laser imaging to take the shape of your key and generate an exact copy.
