FedEx offers package pickup for express, ground and freight in 2022. Options include on-call, where you can schedule a pickup on the same day or the next business day, on-call return, use for returns, automatic pickup, and periodic stops. What types of pickups does FedEx offer?

Express pickup options include the following:
- Anytime you go: Schedule a pickup on the same day or the next business day
- On call: Allows recipients to schedule an on-call pickup to return items to the shipper.
- Periodic stop: Ideal for frequent shippers with daily pickup needs.
Ground pickups have the same options as the Express. However, it is worth noting that on-call ground shipments can be scheduled up to 2 weeks in advance.
What’s more, Land Pickup also comes with an automatic pickup option, ideal for infrequent shippers with changing shipping needs.
There are two options for freight: on-call (up to 2 weeks in advance) or regular stops.
How do you schedule a FedEx pickup?
Depending on your needs, you can schedule a FedEx pickup in a few different ways.
Here are your options for scheduling an Express pickup:
- Anytime you go: Go to fedex.com/pickup or call 1-800-GoFedEx.
- On call: Visit fedex.com/pickup or call 1-800-GoFedEx. When calling, be sure to say “return pick”.
- Periodic stop: Coordinate with FedEx Sales or FedEx Customer Service to stop pickups periodically.
Follow the same instructions for on-call and regular stop ground shipments.

When will FedEx take my package?
When booking a pickup through FedEx, you’ll be asked to provide the driver with a “ready time” and a “last available time.”
These times specify the window of time during which the driver must collect your package.
In other words, the driver can attempt to collect the package at any point between the preparation time and the latest available time.

However, if you booked a pickup through FedEx Customer Service or the automated phone system, please contact FedEx again to reconfirm your pickup window.
What if I miss a FedEx pickup?
Missing a FedEx pickup can be a headache, but it’s not the end of the world.
If this happens, you can drop off your package to one of the more than 10,000 FedEx locations in the US or a third-party retailer.
In addition to FedEx office locations and drop boxes, you can bring your shipments to participating Walmart, Walgreens and Dollar General stores.

What happens if FedEx doesn’t pick up the package?
FedEx is generally good at handling customer pickup requests. That said, no company is perfect, and things do slip through the cracks every now and then.
Please make sure you have the correct pickup window before doing anything else. It’s possible that you didn’t actually miss the pick-up, but got the time wrong.
