The PayPal Cash Back Mastercard is a PayPal credit card partnered with Mastercard that can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, online, in-store, or when shopping with PayPal.
Plus, it enables you to earn a 2% “Cash Bonus” on all purchases, which can then be transferred to your PayPal balance, bank account or debit card.
Plus, the card gives you the security features of PayPal, like Identity Theft Protection, and the benefits of MasterCard.
Another piece of information to note – you can only choose one PayPal MasterCard option, PayPal Cashback Mastercard or PayPal Extras Mastercard.
PayPal Extras Mastercard is also a PayPal credit card that works with MasterCard and can be used anywhere MasterCard works, including online, in-store or PayPal purchases.
Also, the difference between the two is that PayPal Extras allows you to earn “Rewards Points” on all purchases, not just “Cash Rewards”.
Plus, with PayPal Extras, you can redeem your reward points for gift cards, merchandise, travel vouchers, or cash back.
Additionally, cashback can also be transferred to your PayPal balance, bank account or debit card, just like PayPal Cashback.

Why doesn’t my Mastercard work with PayPal?
Unfortunately, if your credit card doesn’t work with your PayPal account, there may be several reasons:
- The address or name on your card does not match the address or name on your PayPal account
- You have not confirmed your card
- Your card is linked to multiple PayPal accounts
- you have reached your credit card limit, or
- In this case, your card issuer, MasterCard, has declined the charge
Also, to fix this, first, you should check the address and name on your card and your PayPal account to make sure they match.
If they do not match, you will need to correct them in your PayPal account or by calling MasterCard.
Next, you should check to make sure you link your credit card correctly and fully. This means making sure you confirm your card and all the information is correct.
Also, if you have multiple PayPal accounts, make sure your card is not linked to another account.
Also, you should call your credit card company Mastercard and make sure you haven’t hit your credit card limit and they haven’t declined the charge for any reason.
Finally, if you’ve checked all other issues and your card still doesn’t work, try another payment method.
