Walgreens does not accept returns of any Walgreens or third-party gift cards, even if you have the original receipt. If you don’t need it at all, consider giving it as a gift to family or friends, or trade it in with regulars at Walgreens (or third-party stores) for cash.

Walgreens stores tend to be more inclined to return items if the customer presents the original purchase receipt. However, Walgreens will not refund any gift cards at any store, even if you have the original receipt.

Walgreens has an official policy of accepting returns within 30 days of purchase.
However, this does not apply to gift cards (which are not refunded at all), so Walgreens will not refund gift cards even if you are within the 30 day period.
What if I don’t want to keep the gift card?
If you have Walgreens Gift Cards that you don’t want to keep, you may consider the following options:
- Give this gift card (as a gift) to family or friends on special occasions like birthdays or wedding anniversaries
- Exchange gift cards for cash with those who regularly visit the associated chain
