What is my Uber rating? (all you must know)
In order for products and services to work efficiently and ensure a more positive customer experience, they need to build feedback systems.
Well, Uber allows people to leave ratings on its platform, and we looked at how the system works, so keep reading this article to learn more about the subject!
What will be my Uber rating in 2022
Your Uber rating is the number of points you earn, depending on how you use the service in 2022. The rating is out of five stars and determines how easy it is for you to operate on the platform. Uber ratings are posted by riders for drivers and vice versa, both out of five stars and available to recipients.
Read on to learn everything you need to know about Uber ratings, including how to view your ratings, how they serve passengers, how to improve them, and more!
How to Check Your Uber Rating
As a driver, you can view your Uber rating by going to your profile via the button in the top left corner of the app.
When your profile opens, your rating will be the first thing in the stats row below your profile picture.
What is my Uber rating as a customer?
As a customer or rider, you can see how other drivers have rated you by following these steps:
- Once logged into the Uber app, go to the settings menu
- Click on “Privacy”
- Go to Privacy Center
- Swipe right and find the tile that says “Would you like to see a summary of how to use Uber?”
- Click the View Summary button below the tile text
- On the page that says “Explore Your Data” at the top, scroll down until you reach the Ratings section
- Click “View My Rating”
This will open a section showing your rating (out of 5 stars), a breakdown of each rating from 1 to 5, and the number of times you received each rating.
Do Uber drivers know who rates them?
Uber drivers don’t know who rates them, but they can use clues and information to make solid guesses.
For example, if a driver has a negative experience with a rider and gets a negative rating after that, they can safely assume that’s where it came from.
Why can’t I see my Uber rating?
If you don’t see your Uber rating, it’s probably because you haven’t used the service enough.
Uber says you need to have at least 5 rides under your profile to see your rating.
However, we’ve found clients reporting that they got theirs when they were 10, while others said they exceeded that even without a rating.
In these cases, it may be due to a bug in the system, at which point you can try the following:
- restart the application
- restart your device
- log out and back in
- Contact Uber Support
How can I improve my Uber rating?
As a driver, here are some things you can try to improve your Uber rating:
- Pick up passengers on time
- Keep your car clean inside and out
- Avoid smoking in the vehicle, whether you are with the rider or alone, to prevent odors from affecting the vehicle
- Always use GPS, even if you know your route to avoid delays because it’s better to be safe than sorry
- Ask the rider if they need anything during the ride, such as if they like to turn the air conditioner on or off
- Use a kickstand for your phone instead of holding it in your hand as this helps the rider feel safe
- Be careful when talking – if you must talk, keep the subject light and pay attention to the rider’s reaction to see if they want to talk
- Be polite
- Provide the rider with up-to-date information during the ride, e.g. when you take a different route to avoid traffic jams
- Drive carefully so that the rider does not feel that you are at risk of an accident.
As a passenger, you can improve your Uber rating by following these tips:
- Arrive at the pick up point on time and don’t keep the driver waiting
- Don’t litter in the car – this includes spills in addition to wrapping paper
- Do not smoke in the car
- Let drivers know ahead of time about things they wouldn’t expect, such as pets or more than normal numbers of passengers
- Be mindful when talking, e.g. if you have to talk, choose a light theme and pay attention to the driver’s reaction to see if they are interested in talking
- Be polite to the driver
Do Uber ratings matter?
Your Uber rating is important because anyone connected to your profile can see it, and it determines their willingness to interact with you.
For example, drivers with low ratings are more likely to have passengers cancel them because they are considered intractable at best and dangerous at worst.
