Does Sam’s Club Gas accept cash?
Sam’s Club gas stations accept a variety of payment methods, but do not accept cash for fuel. You can pay by credit card, gift card or Sam’s Club Scan & Go.However, you will need to show your Sam’s Club card to most Sam’s Club Fuel Center.

Does Sam’s Club require a card to pay for gas?
All Sam’s Club Fuel Centers require some form of card payment (and membership card) to purchase fuel.
The only exceptions to the membership card requirement are a few locations that are open to the public. These locations are either co-located with Walmart stores or open for public use as required by law. These sites offer a 0.05 cent discount to members and Walmart+ users (except New Jersey), but not to general public users.
To buy fuel, you need to have a physical card or card payment technology, such as Scan & Go, set up on your phone. Accepted cards include:
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.
- Sam’s Club and Mastercard
- walmart credit card
- Sam’s Club and Walmart gift cards (but Walmart gift cards require a magnetic strip to be scanned)

What payment methods are available at Sam’s Club gas stations?
The Sam’s Club gas station was created for (and continues to be) for convenience, speed and efficiency. To that end, they introduced a contactless payment technology called Scan & Go, which is used to make payments at Sam’s Club fuel pumps.
So in addition to your chosen credit card payment method, you can set up a digital wallet in the Sam’s Club app to further speed up the fuel payment process.

Can I pay for fuel at Sam’s gas station with Sam’s cash?
Sam’s Cash is now a single-form customer loyalty reward available to all Sam’s Club members, regardless of membership type (though Plus members attract the biggest rewards).
Unfortunately, Sam’s Cash cannot For a Sam’s Cub fuel pump (or for paying off a credit card). It can be applied to most other purchases at Sam’s Club, including transactions through Scan & Go (though there are some limitations) and when shopping for Sam’s Club online.
When you shop online, you’ll see the associated rewards (and limits) as you shop, and remember that Plus membership attracts the highest Sam’s Cash rewards. Your cash doesn’t expire, and there’s no need to opt-in to the program: your participation is automatic (though you don’t have to if you don’t want to use cash).

Other Things to Know About Sam’s Club Gas
Sam’s Club gas stations are fast, convenient, and popular with members for the associated fuel discounts. However, there are a few things to know about how these fuel hubs work:
- First of all, Sam’s Club gas stations are not open 24/7. They have set hours of operation which may vary slightly depending on the location. The best way to fix this is to use the Sam’s Club Locator tool to search for gas stations, then check for “gas stations”. You should be able to see the exact time for each fuel center. The Standard Fuel Center is open Monday to Saturday (6am-9pm) and Sunday (9am-7pm, after-hours gasoline is not available.
- Gas prices at Sam’s Club are not consistent across locations. Again, use the locator tool to find the station and check directly (if you don’t see the prices displayed online).
- Keep your membership card handy. While there are many Sam’s Club gas stations available to the public, most of them are for members only.
- Sam’s Club Membership ($45 per year) and Sam’s Club Plus Membership ($100 per listen) both Discounted fuel for authorized users. However, the Sam’s Club Mastercard has higher associated rewards for Plus users.
- Remember, Walmart gift cards must have a magnetic strip on the back if you want to redeem them for fuel.
- Although Apple Pay is a popular contactless electronic payment method for fuel, you can’t use it for Sam’s Club fuel.
