What’s the Amazon moment in 2022?
Amazon Moments enables developers to increase customer engagement with their apps in 2022. Developers can incentivize consumers to use their apps by offering consumers redeemable points to earn rewards for select Amazon products. As customers increase their engagement with the app, they accumulate and earn better rewards. Developers are charged per action based on the number of activities.

How does Amazon Moment work?
Recently, Amazon released its newest program called Amazon Moments to developers.
This rewards user behavior by offering users credits for in-app purchases, watching ads, or playing games.
For example, a developer might have an application that contains different categories of products.
In this case, they can assign a different point value to each category, and users will earn points when they purchase a product in one of these categories.
An important feature of this reward system is that it does not take the form of cash like other programs (such as those offered by PayPal).
Instead, the points it pays can be redeemed for various items on Amazon. These items include gift cards, physical goods, digital content or other rewards.
What are the developer benefits of using Amazon Moments?
By integrating this new reward system into your app, developers will be able to incentivize customer behavior, such as watching ads or making in-app purchases.
This is a great way to get more relevant customers and increase conversions. Also, it is an effective way to expand your customer base.
Why Amazon is always good for customers
Likewise, customers benefit from using Amazon Moments as they are rewarded for participating in the marketing of the app developers.
Since they get rewarded for using your app more often, customers have more reason to spend time on your app.
Not only does this keep customers coming back, but it also gives them a chance to learn about other parts of the app that they might be interested in.
Having loyal repeat customers is easier to market to them than starting new ones from scratch.
Another significant benefit is that people will be more likely to download the app if offered a reward for trying the app.
They’ll be more likely to give the app a chance if there’s something in the app that works for them, like credits or exclusive content.
These incentives help drive downloads and make your app popular!
What resolution do I need for the banner art on the Moments exchange page?
The redemption page/email and redemption message require a banner with a width of 3000px and a height of 600px.
Can developers use the Amazon logo in their Moments events?
To promote Amazon Moment’s rewards, developers can use “Delivered Through Badge”.
For details on the image and usage of this badge, see Using the Delivered Badge at the link above.
Can users who are not Amazon customers redeem rewards?
To redeem your prize, all users must have an Amazon account.
After they click the link on your redemption page or email, they can create their account and then be automatically redirected to their Company Moments page.
This is where the code will be applied to them.
Will the Moments experience open in the Amazon app if the user visits the reward URL from a mobile device?
How users experience Moments depends on how the reward URL is displayed and application settings. There are two ways to open a circle of friends:
- Via a mobile web browser
- Views within the developer app
Where can developers find more information about the Rewards API?
For an overview of the API, see Rewards API. For more information, see Rewards API Endpoint.
What if the selected reward is out of stock?
If the reward item is out of stock, Amazon will provide the customer with a replacement reward item of equal value.
Do rewards expire?
Each reward is valid for 30 days after the end date of the campaign.
Can Amazon gift cards be used as rewards?
A potential rewards developer could offer Amazon points that can be used like gift cards to buy select products.
Can customers choose their rewards?
Currently, users can only select developer-specified rewards in the current console.
In addition, there are two kinds of rewards:
- Discounts on select products in selected categories
- Free single product
When choosing rewards, developers can assign each event five free items or a discount category.
Can developers see which users redeemed rewards?
Because Amazon never discloses personally identifiable information or purchase history to developers, they can’t see who redeemed the rewards.
Can developers choose their product as a reward?
Developers can offer their products as a reward to customers. However, the product must be sold and fulfilled by Amazon.
Additionally, developers do not receive any CPA discounts when selecting items they sell on Amazon. To request this option, go here.
Currently, Amazon also offers a beta program where developers reward U.S. users with standard T-shirts made by Amazon through Merch.
Developers interested in applying for this program should contact Amazon Moments support through the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of their Moments console.
Does Amazon Moments have an app?
Currently, there is no app for Amazon Moments. However, users can still earn points by downloading other apps on the App Store.
How much does it cost for developers to use Amazon Moments?
Pricing for Amazon Rewards is based on a cost-per-action (CPA) model, which varies by volume.
Does Amazon set a total budget limit for Moments campaigns?
Amazon currently has a monthly limit of $5,000 per activity and $15,000 per Moments account per month.
However, if developers want to increase their spending limit, they can contact the support team.
Does the customer pay tax on reward items?
As developers, we are responsible for setting the cost per action (CPA) for each campaign. Therefore, it is recommended to include taxes in the CPA.
For example, if the value of the reward item is $25 and the sales at the customer’s location is 10%, the developer sets the CPA to $27.50.
After a customer selects a reward, they will see a promotional credit of $27.50.
When reward items are priced, they are based on the selling price of other items sold through Amazon in the previous period.
With this algorithm set up, most rewards will be very close to their selling price, and some may even be lower than their listed cost.
Will the customer be charged for shipping the reward item?
All in-kind rewards are subject to standard Amazon shipping guidelines. Therefore, Prime members are eligible for free 2-day expedited shipping.
Likewise, non-Prime members get free shipping on orders over $25. Additional shipping guidelines can be found by shipping and time.
Are all Amazon Appstore developers eligible to use Amazon Moments?
Currently, Moments does not support developers in South Africa, Albania, Saudi Arabia, Russia or Switzerland.
Additionally, support is not provided for developers in countries on the US embargo list.
Which countries can receive Amazon Moments Rewarded Shipping?
Rewarded shipping is currently available to all countries participating in Amazon Moments, the AmazonGlobal program. For a complete list of eligible locations, click here.
Who should customers contact if they have questions?
When your customers click on their reward URL, they can contact Amazon with any questions they have.
However, if problems arise before then, you’ll need to deal with them yourself, as Amazon has no way of knowing what your app or website is doing.
