Sometimes, shopping for makeup can be filmed in the dark. You don’t always know if what you’re buying is the right color or if it’s going to last a night on the town. Being able to easily return unwanted makeup is a big plus when you’re not sure about your purchase.
Since different stores can have vastly different policies, it’s worth doing some research and determining if you’re eligible for a full refund.
You can return makeup to Marshall’s within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the original receipt. Returns between 30 and 40 days are valid for store credit only.

Marshall Return Policy After 90 Days
Marshall’s return policy is divided into two parts; one for in-store purchases and one for online purchases. Both policies are fairly straightforward, the difference being mainly in the method of allowing returns.
For both policies, the time you can wait for a refund is limited to 30 days. If you purchased 30-40 days ago, you may still be eligible for Store Points or Merchandise Exchange.
Beyond these limits, all refunds are at the discretion of the store manager. It’s still possible for them to process your store credit refund, but you’re unlikely to be eligible for a cash refund.
However, the policy also states that special conditions apply if your local Marshall location is closed due to covid-19 restrictions. Basically, you are still eligible for a refund for 30 days after the store reopens. This is the only situation where you will be eligible for a refund after the standard 30-day period.
Marshall No Receipt Return Policy
Although Marshall’s requires receipt within 30 days to process a full refund, you can still get store credit if you don’t have a receipt. Simply return the item in its original packaging and they will refund you with store credit that can be used to purchase other Marshall items.
If you want to request a return without a receipt, you’ll need government-issued photo ID to earn store credits. You may also need to provide a signature. Returns of this nature will also be registered and tracked by Marshall’s Loss Prevention Program.
Can you return makeup to Marshall’s without packaging?
Items returned to Marshall’s must be unused and unopened in their original packaging. Returns are not accepted for used or opened merchandise.
If you have opened your item, or if the packaging is sufficiently damaged, you will not be able to return your item for a refund. If you are planning to return it, be sure not to open it or try to use it.
Likewise, if your item arrives at the warehouse in a damaged condition, your refund may be denied. For this reason, it’s important to use a sturdy and well-packed container when mailing your item for a refund.
How to Return Makeup to Marshall’s
You can return cosmetic products to Marshall’s by taking the unopened item along with the receipt to any Marshall’s location within 30 days of purchase.
Returns outside the 30 day window or returns without a receipt will not be eligible for a full cash refund. You will only get store credits. Items purchased in store must be returned in store, but items purchased online can be sent by mail.
In-store returns are completely free, but if you return an item by mail, restocking and shipping will be deducted from your refund. We’ll discuss mailing your items in detail in the next section of this article.
Refunds will be sent to the same payment method used for purchase. If you originally purchased makeup with a credit card that is no longer available, you must contact customer service to discuss your options.
It is also important to note that items purchased at Marshall’s (whether online or in store) must be returned to Marshall’s. You cannot return these items to TJ Maxx or other stores associated with the Marshall brand.
Return makeup to Marshall’s by mail
The “Returns” column on the item’s receipt will indicate how you can return it. Items purchased online may be mailed and refunded within 40 days. Items must arrive at the return warehouse within 40 days of the original order for you to be eligible for a refund.
Your order receipt will contain a shipping label that can be used for returns. When processing returns by mail, a return handling fee will be deducted from your refund. When you ship an item for return, be sure to include your receipt (or a copy of your order confirmation email) in the box.
In addition to this, all standard return policies apply to returns by mail. In other words, your item must arrive at the warehouse unopened and undamaged.
