Does CVS sell stamps? (Location, price, etc!)
CVS stores seem to be on every corner. This makes it super easy to drop into CVS anytime and pick up any essentials without the long lines like Walmart and the like.
I needed stamps the other day and was wondering if CVS has stamps? We looked into it and here’s what we found…
Does CVS sell stamps?
Although CVS Health Corporation is primarily a healthcare and pharmacy chain, they do sell stamps. CVS said they offer “in-person, at-home and virtual care” and that their services are “designed to meet the needs of customers in Every take a step”.
To that end, they sell stamps and a range of other everyday personal care items and essentials in all of their 9,000 retail stores.
This article covers buying stamps through CVS Health Corporation and pharmacies: where you can find them, how to buy them, and how much they cost.
Where can I buy stamps at CVS?
CVS keeps stamps at the counter. In other words, you need to ask for them – you won’t find them on the shelf.
CVS buys stamps in books, they will only sell them to customers in books. You cannot buy stamps individually at CVS. Shoppers are also advised to call ahead to check stamp availability. This is because stamps run out at any time and your local CVS may be waiting for supplies.
It’s also important to remember that you cannot buy stamps online from CVS. Stamps can only be purchased in-store from CVS.
Remember, you need to ask for stamps: they don’t go on the shelf, they don’t work in self-checkout systems, and they’re always in a 20-stamp leaflet or booklet
How much are CVS stamps?
A single of 20 stamps at CVS sells for $10 each or a volume. You can buy any number of sheets, but you cannot buy them individually. To get a stamp or two, you need to go to the nearest post office.
Usually CVS doesn’t mark the stamps they get from USPS. If they take apart a stamp to sell only a few stamps, they also need to be able to sell the rest individually or they will lose money. So they just sell them in brochures.
USPS Forever stamps do not lose value and do not expire. This means that you can use them later without any problems. Since Forever stamps usually sell for 55 cents each, you can save a little money by buying a 20-piece stamp for $10.
What type of stamps can you buy at CVS?
CVS sells top-notch Forever Stamps, which come in book or 20-sheet format. They are usually not marked up from the original USPS price.
The design of the stamps is always the same, but there is one design change around Christmas. A Forever First Class stamp is enough to post a standard 1 oz letter.
Can I use ExtraCare to buy stamps at CVS?
CVS offers ExtraCare members exclusive, personalized offers, savings and rewards on virtually everything they buy. The program is free to join, and points can be used like cash on almost anything in the store. However, there are some limitations.
For example, you cannot use bonus points to buy stamps. Other exceptions to the use of bonus points include:
- prescription
- Prepaid Gift Card
- CVS Gift Card

Over the years, CVS Health Company and Pharmacies have expanded their health and retail offerings to include a range of convenient essentials — including stamps.
You can find these at the CVS pharmacy front desk (you may need to ask for them) for about $10 each in volumes of 20.
Stamps cannot be purchased individually or online. CVS is a great place to buy stamps because they have many locations that are open long hours (including 24 hours) and are open every day of the week.
