Does Del Taco accept Apple Pay? (Updated in 2022!)
Del Taco Restaurants Inc. is a popular chain of fast food restaurants in the United States. Del Taco is a public restaurant specializing in American-Mexican cuisine.
It also serves American-style fast food, including burgers, shakes, and fries. The Del Taco restaurant chain first opened in 1964.

Does Del Taco accept Apple Pay?
Del Taco does not use Apple Pay at all locations. Some Del Taco’s are already accepting Apple Pay, but not most yet. Del Taco accepts other payment methods such as cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, etc.) and debit cards.
Despite its popularity, Apple Pay isn’t the only payment method Del Taco doesn’t accept. Del Taco also does not accept the following payment methods:
- Google Pay
- Amazon Pay
- Alipay
- Paypal

These are some of the unexpected names on the list above, as Del Taco has so far refused to accept them as a form of payment for its locations, despite being relatively common these days.
However, some Del Taco fans have asked them to allow mobile payments for fast transactions, so we can expect them to start adopting these payment methods soon.
Payment Methods Accepted by Del Taco
Let’s take a look at the various payment methods available at all of Del Taco’s stores. Del Taco accepts the following payment methods:
- MasterCard
- Visa
- cash payment
Currently, these are the only payment methods that Del Taco accepts. Guests can also pay their bills with a Del Taco gift card.
Stores that don’t accept Apple Pay
Except for Del Taco, other stores don’t accept Apple Pay because they have their own mobile payment system. The following fast food restaurants do not use Apple Pay:

How to use Apple Card without accepting Apple Pay
Not all places accept Apple Pay. This is especially true for small businesses. The merchant may have a point-of-sale terminal that accepts contactless payments. To accept Apple Pay, some merchants may need to change their current settings.
Merchants may face increased costs as a result. You can pay with your Apple Card in one of the following ways.
There are two ways to transact without accepting Apple Pay.
1. You can use the Apple Card made of titanium.
2. Card number can be used
Titanium Apple Card
In stores that don’t accept Apple Pay, you can use your Titanium card (or your actual card). You can use the titanium card like any other credit card.
Pay with Titanium Apple Card;
- Open the Wallet app on your iOS device,
- Click the More Options button,
- Tap the Apple Card button and follow the on-screen instructions.
Your card is mailed much faster than you expected, and postage is free
However, keep in mind that when you use this strategy, you can only earn 1% Daily Cash per purchase. However, keep in mind that every purchase requires a new card to be activated.
Use your card number
You can use this option when you are trying to buy anything online and Apple Pay is not accepted.
- Turn on your iOS device,
- Click on the Wallet app,
- Click the More button,
- Erase card information.
- You will need to authenticate with your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID to view your card data.

You will then see all your card information such as card number, security code and expiration date. You can use these details to make transactions without accepting Apple Pay.

Del Taco does not accept Apple Pay as a payment method. Additionally, fast food restaurants do not employ several alternative payment methods. Cash and debit or credit cards are the only payment methods that may be accepted.
This is an inconvenient experience for their customers because we now live in an era of electronic payments, which are also very secure.
Maybe Del Taco will offer more payment methods like Apple Pay in the near future. But they only accept cash and credit cards now!
