Sam’s Club offers paying members two credit cards associated with the member’s paying account: the Sam’s Club Credit Card and the Sam’s Club Master Card. Both are accepted at Walmart nationwide.

Are Sam’s Club Cards and Walmart Credit Cards the Same Thing?
The Sam’s Club credit card and the Walmart credit card are not the same card, but both companies accept them as a form of payment, although it may depend on where you shop – online or in-store.
Sam’s Club (actually the Samsey Company) is owned and operated by Walmart Corporation, which was founded and named Sam’s Club in 1983 after Walmart founder Sam Walton. The first Sam’s Club store opens in Oklahoma.
That’s why you can use your Sam’s Club and Gift Cards with both companies and vice versa.

Can I use my Walmart Capital One card at Sam’s Club?
You can absolutely use your Walmart Capital One card at Sam’s Club—and anywhere else Mastercard is accepted. By contrast, your Walmart credit card (or rewards card) is only used for Walmart (and Sam’s Club) purchases.
Likewise, your Sam’s Club credit card only works in Sam’s Club (and Walmart) warehouses, and your Sam’s Club Mastercard can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
Your Walmart Rewards Card will earn you:
- 5% rebate from Walmart.com
- 2% off Walmart stores
Your Walmart Capital One Mastercard will earn you:
- 5% rebate from Walmart.com
- 2% off Walmart stores
- 2% rebate from restaurants and travel
- 1% rebate on all other purchases
Your Sam’s Club credit card has:
- No annual fee
- Available at all Sam’s Club/Walmart locations
Your Sam’s Club Mastercard will earn you:
- 5% cash back on gas anywhere Mastercard is accepted (on the first $6,000 per year)
- 3% cash back on Sam’s Club purchases (1% for Plus/Club members)
- 3% cash back on dining/delivery
- 1% cash back on purchases anywhere Mastercard is accepted

Matching your credit card to the correct store can be confusing, especially when the store issues multiple credit cards with different rewards that can be used at different locations.
Sam’s Club also offers membership options: Club ($45 per year) and Plus ($100 per year). It’s important to remember that if you purchase a Plus membership, your Mastercard will give you even more rewards.
