What better way to check out some local brands than from our Bay Area home? It’s always better to eat locally sourced food, so with that in mind, here are our top five favorite snack foods produced and distributed in the Bay Area – dig deeper.
Bare is an SF based brand and if you work anywhere you’re sure to see it in your office cupboards. They also recently got their first round of funding from Pear Ventures, so you might see them in your local grocery store and market soon. The brand’s long-term vision is to create a range of products that “make healthy eating easy, simple and delicious.” They also want to attract customers by selling online, so whether your snacking journey takes you to a store or on the internet, you know you’ll have plenty of healthy options at your disposal.
If you want to snack less and eat more meat, Krave is your friend. The company is consistently ranked as one of the fastest-growing food startups in San Francisco, and for good reason. According to their website, “KRAVE snacks are made with tender, delicious cuts of meat and carefully crafted flavors. We use premium yet simple ingredients like pink peppercorns and real habaneros in each of our innovative flavors. ” Delicious and delicious, anytime, anywhere. What more could you want?
If vegan options are more your thing, then Kite Hill is a company that makes vegan dairy. Trust us, you won’t know the difference. Their yogurt is thick, creamy and gives you everything you can get in regular dairy. As they state on their website, “Kite Hill’s mission is to make plant-based eating easy, enjoyable and delicious.”

If you’re craving something salty and crunchy to quench your thirst, look no further than New Frontier foods’ seaweed snacks. They say their fries are “incredibly delicious and nutritious. Our seaweed is organically grown and requires no fertilization. Seaweed is known to have a negative carbon footprint, and our main ingredient is seaweed.” Protecting the environment during your snack breaks? We are down.
