How to Fix Amazon Needed Payment Revisions
To make sure your payment was successful and your order was not cancelled, you must check and see why the transaction failed.
If it’s a debit card, you can check the balance on the card, or contact your credit card company to find out why they didn’t approve the charge.
Double check that the balance in your bank account is accurate and that there are no “pending payments” in progress.
Double check that the card details you entered are correct and that the card you have on file has not expired.
Some cards have a daily spending limit, double check that you don’t exceed that number for the day.
Also, some new cards may not be activated or you will need to call and authorize the payment as it may look suspicious if the amount is high.
You can contact your bank and ask them for more information. Amazon will also let you know if they need anything from you.
One of the quickest ways to fix the problem is to use another card to quickly process the order and then go through the process of figuring out why the card payment failed.
Beware of scam emails
Unfortunately, many scam emails are sent asking for payment revisions.
These emails look like official emails from Amazon when your credit card information doesn’t go through.
If you receive a payment revision email, be sure to take the following precautions:
If you’re not sure if the email is an official Amazon email or a scammer, don’t click on the link they provide.
Just go to your Amazon account and check if your most recent order has gone through.
You can also contact Amazon Support directly to see if your account needs to be repaired or updated.
If you click on a scam email, it may ask you to “update” or re-enter your credit card information, thereby stealing your payment information.
Amazon will always receive a notification in your account stating the same as said in your email. If you cannot find this notification, the email may be a fraudulent email.
If you find a notice that you really need to update your payment information, you can do so now.
