How do I know if I can use Apple Pay at USPS?
Apple Pay has its own unique icon (the silhouette of an apple next to the word “Pay”). This symbol will always appear in the physical checkout system (in-store) or at checkout or at checkout (if you are online). If this icon isn’t there, you won’t be able to complete transactions with Apple Pay.

- USPS Package Interception / USPS Delivery Instructions
- Pickup on Demand
- Click to Ship
- USPS Tracking Enhanced
You need to create an online USPS account to access most of these services.
How do I create an Apple Pay account?
If you have an Apple device, you already have Apple Pay Setup without downloading the app.
You just add your credit or debit card to the Apple Wallet app on your phone.You can do this by opening the Wallet application, click Add to, Click the card type you want to add and follow the prompts.
You’ll need an Apple ID signed into iCloud, and you may need to verify your information with your bank.
What other payments does USPS accept?
If you don’t have Apple Pay, you can pay at USPS in a number of more traditional ways, including:
- cash
- Visa card (except when purchasing money order or cash on delivery)
- MasterCard, Discover, and American Express
- Debit card (if PIN is not required)
- Tap to pay (this option will appear next to the Apple Pay option at checkout)
- PayPal (only in postal stores and Click-N-Ship)
- Personal and business checks to “Postmaster” – if presented with acceptable photo ID. Please note that cheques cannot be accepted if the amount of the cheque exceeds the exact purchase amount (or purchase money order).
What payment methods does USPS not accept?
USPS does not accept certain payment methods at all, and there are limit For other payment methods, it is important to be aware of these limitations.
You may use personal and business checks, but only with an acceptable form of identification, and only if the check written matches the purchase.
USPS does not accept money orders and travel/promissory notes. They also don’t accept virtual Mastercards or gift cards as payment methods.
