You may have frequented a Starbucks store for a cup of coffee and noticed that its baristas don’t follow a strict dress code. It seems that all partners, even those in management roles such as shift managers, are free to express their personal taste in fashion.
The truth is that Starbucks does have a dress code for its employees, which may not seem obvious at first glance. They crafted the Starbucks experience for the best customer experience, including how employees should dress.
2022 Starbucks Dress Code
Generally, Starbucks requires its employees to wear smart casual attire and pastel colors. Starbucks does give some leeway for personal expression, as long as the overall dress is neat and appropriate, and freedom of movement is allowed. Starbucks employees must also wear and keep their aprons looking sharp at all times.

Because all Starbucks employees, whether baristas or shift supervisors, represent the brand of a multibillion-dollar company, it is imperative that they maintain a clean and tidy appearance at work. All clothing should be wrinkle-free, spotless, hole-free, and neat.
There are some exceptions to Starbucks’ dress code (religious exemptions, disabilities, etc.), so the store manager ultimately decides what’s considered work-appropriate and what’s not.

Naturally, Starbucks employees must wear clothing that highlights the brand’s main color, green. To this end, they should wear pastel or neutral-colored clothing, including:

However, for food safety reasons, hair dye must be permanent or semi-permanent. You must also keep your hair neat and brushed back so that any hair does not fall into the customer’s drink.

If you have a bad hair day, you can choose to cover your head. Starbucks employees can wear:

Face

Earrings and ear gauges are also allowed, but they must be smaller than a quarter.

Tattoos are clean, but they cannot depict anything obscene, profane, racist or sexual. However, tattoos on the face or neck are not permitted.
bottoms
Employees may wear dark jeans, pants, shorts, skirts and dresses. The only policy is that they must come in darker shades – black, navy, grey, brown and khaki. Starbucks employees are also not allowed to wear patched or torn clothing, so no ripped jeans or ripped pants with holes.
If you choose to wear shorts, skirts and dresses, they must be no shorter than four inches above the knee.
